Font Formatting in Microsoft Word 2003

Font formatting is sometimes referred to as character formatting. Formatting can be applied to individual characters of text. Word provides several options for doing this.

Fonts

Font is the typeface used to display characters. Font sets the font family (or series of families) for the style. Browsers display text in the first font in the series that is installed on the user’s system. For compatibility with Internet Explorer 3.0, list a Windows font first. The font attribute is supported by both browsers.

Fonts

Font Style refers to the appearance of the font characters. It can be applied as regular, italic, bold, or bold italic.
