Show or Hide Windows and Panels
Dreamweaver 8 provides an uncluttered workspace with windows and panels that can be opened and closed depending on your work preferences. Windows and panels are controlled by commands in the Windows menu. Click on the Window menu.
Show or Hide a Window

The Window drop-down menu will appear. The black checkboxes indicate which windows or panels are open. To open a window or panel, click on the title and the window or panel will open. Click on it again and it will close and the checkbox will disappear.

Dreamweaver Tutorial: Using Panel Groups and Inspectors
Panel groups are windows that display panels and inspectors. Most panel groups contain two or more related panels, with tabs provided for switching between different panels. The Files Panel for example, has tabs for Files, Assets, and Snippets.
A panel group opens from the Window menu. You have several panel groups open at the same time and panels can be expanded or collapsed by clicking the name in the blue panel bar at the top of each panel group.

Panels open in the location they were last used. The default layout for Dreamweaver is to place tall panels on the side and wide panels on the bottom of the workspace. You can move panel groups by dragging the gripper on the left side of the panel group bar and placing the panel anywhere on your screen.
